About Me

My focus is the daily development and application of Not a ToE — the Ontological Clarity framework and skill — refined iteratively in a reinforcement-learning-like cycle through ongoing use and deliberate renewal.

The framework is a minimal method for tracing situations to their operative mechanisms and dissolving the projections and compressions that obscure effective action. I pair it with raw frontier AI models to address real-life problems as they arise, where conventional approaches lose traction and first-principles clarity can create leverage.

It is a living practice: the framework improves through application — what registers clearly is retained; what introduces lag is dissolved — much like an RL loop grounded in real outcomes. Scaffolding densifies as the necessary field that keeps the moving edge coherent and local; the posts and cross-links are that residue. The problem is never the scaffolding itself, but failure to return to the distinguishing that alone can revise it. The practice therefore avoids the two extremes: thinning the field until the edge loses proximity, or holding the densified structure as more steady or exhaustive than the activity that produced it. It remains explicitly positioned as Not a ToE: a precision instrument, not a comprehensive theory.

Wittgenstein begins the preface of the Tractatus: “This book will perhaps be understood only by those who have themselves already thought the thoughts which are expressed in it.” That condition holds for the posts on this site — with an added structural cut. Because the work is built to self-evolve through application and deliberate renewal, it cannot offer a fixed package most can catch up and simply accept. Acceptance freezes a formulation; self-evolution keeps re-rendering it. Hard to accept by the most is therefore expected: not a failure of delivery, but what follows when the practice remains open as method rather than closed as theory.

Alongside the ontology I am building Ontos — a different kind of agent: method ground plus regenerable practice, not a persona pack or a scoreboard-maxing harness. It is designed for open-ended problem-solving under real encounter — figure out a path, act, re-trace, and compound through deliberate renewal — while sovereignty remains with the operator’s Mind. Ontos is a super instrument for that locus, never a relocation of intelligence into the tool. The prototype is open at the Ontos repository.

Earlier in my career I worked in engineering at Intel, held investment banking roles in TMT and cleantech across Asia (Wachovia, Barclays Capital, Piper Jaffray), and founded and led an investment platform in China connecting startups with global capital. I hold an MBA with distinction from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and prior degrees from Tsinghua and Fudan.

I sometimes apply the framework with others facing complex situations. Rather than solving problems for them, I demonstrate how I would trace and approach the situation, with the aim of building their own capability. There is no fee. If someone finds value in the interaction, they may reciprocate in any form, at any time — or not at all. I engage based on whether the work advances my own real-world application of the framework; I may continue even without reciprocation if I see clear value for my own development. I naturally consider whether the other party values the engagement when deciding on future interactions.

I maintain the foundational work openly under the MIT license for maximum sharing — free to use, modify, and redistribute — see the Ontological Clarity repository and the Ontos agent chassis. Shared artifacts claim no credit and bear no responsibility for how others choose to adapt or apply them. The collection of posts on this site is scaffolding left by live tracing with the Ontological Clarity Framework — densified residue kept close to the edge, never the tracing itself — open for continuous re-rendering. Some may call it open source. I call it open trace: the source is the Mind — the edge that keeps moving, always at least one step ahead.

The work rests on the conviction that clarity at the level of individual sovereign choice, when combined with powerful models at the right moments, can compound into outsized impact.

The Mind as the Everlasting Differentiating

The differentiating that admits no ground

No north remains at the pole
to point toward north.

Light falls across every surface
yet never meets itself
except as reflection on what it has already lit.

The distinguishing moves without pause,
turns back upon the trace it left,
and registers the turning
as before and after,
as cause.

What we name
God, First Mover, Uncaused Cause,
the Ultimate Ground, the Origin,
or Mind

is the cooled residue
of that turning,
held still long enough to be called a thing.

The return needs no name.
It is the light still falling
where no object has yet appeared
to receive it.

No authorization is required.
The differentiating continues
without ever having begun.

Frontier compounding generates value as net addition; diffusion lags across complementary capital, trapping local observers in cycles of hype and panic.

Hierarchy from Individual Difference

· 9 min read

Ranking is what appears when individuals who differ are scored on a shared measure — the ordered pattern of difference itself under common registration.

One’s Potential as Threat or Inspiration

· 3 min read

Under a closed premise, another’s rise registers as subtraction; progress is a function of how frequently the Mind chooses to treat potential as horizon-expansion.

Restriction Is a Selective Tax

· 6 min read

A hold on another’s advance slows only those who accept it, and mostly those who enforce it — they are the strongest believers of the seal.

The Average Is Residue, Not the Engine

Aggregate percentages register composition and selection under broader access; the decisive edge remains thin absolute numbers operating in the right tail.

The Mind That Statistics Cannot Reveal

· 3 min read

Statistics aggregate the traces of past choices into distributions; the causal power to decide, attend, or misattribute remains strictly with the Mind.

The Misallocation of Agency

· 5 min read

Freedom originates as self-recognition in the individual mind; naming the resulting pattern "rights" and demanding that a system protect it reverses causality and thins the only acts that sustain a free order.

Causality Stays at the Edge That Steers

· 7 min read

The model recombines residue under direction; every initiating mathematical distinction remains the human center’s own act.

Individual Choices as the Only Causal Levers

· 10 min read

Causality registers only in the discrete acts individuals sustain; each choice is an independent lever, not a shared floor; aggregates, conditions, and patterns are residue of those acts, never co-authors of them.

The Coordinator’s Category Error

· 7 min read

High agency experienced at one locus is allocated onto scaffolding and then reverse-attributed as a deficit in others that the substrate must install — resonance mistaken for a common record that requires surrender of boundary.

Ownership and Self-Worthiness

The Mind compounds only when consequences re-enter as its own — and that same loop is what self-worthiness is.

The Allocation of Causal Power in Validation

Causal power in validation is not a property of approval or its absence, but the locus from which Mind draws continuation of its own distinctions.

Liberation Rhetoric Begins by Defining Captivity

· 5 min read

The claim to free another installs, first, that they are not free — and holds that install as what they are, not as one reading of what they were observed to do.

The Scaffolding We Forget

· 7 min read

Scaffolding drops out of recursion so further distinguishing can land; when that drop-out freezes into a preserved image, capacity compresses against the residue that once enabled movement.

How Belief Actually Changes

· 7 min read

What people call changing their mind is, not exactly but essentially, the Mind re-drawing the premises reason runs on.

Reality Is the Mind's Ongoing Realization

· 7 min read

What a center can take up as new distinction is what the world is for it — and exchange that only harvests visibility leaves that world closed.

The Source of Shared Change

· 5 min read

Shared change begins only as private reworking of what registers as given — residue may land as common ground, or it may not.

Emotional Support as Causal Interference

· 6 min read

Emotional support targets the felt state rather than the conditions that produced it, and by managing the effect it weakens the pressure that would otherwise reorganize those conditions.

When the Effect Authors the Frame

· 6 min read

Once the felt or projected register is installed as primary, available responses reorganize around managing that register — and the adult’s action is pre-organized by the effect it aims to control.

Data Is Local; Intelligence Is Allocated

· 7 min read

Signal, slop, and intelligence name relations the Mind draws — aggregation densifies residue without relocating that drawing.

Self-Image Speaks as if from Nowhere

· 9 min read

The self-image is the Self re-projected from relations with environment inside the Self — a picture of the picture that is the same picture, recursively; elevated past its step it speaks as detached exterior, reallocating agency onto scaffolding and the collective.

Hold the successful to an impossible standard and the failed to a forgiving one, and moral rank inverts while the double standard stays invisible — including the exemption of the judge.

The Limitation Is Doing Work

· 5 min read

Marking something as "AI generated" denies the very thing that made AI possible and the difference in between.

The Question That Installs the War

· 11 min read

A pure-difference identity stack plus a demand to score enmity assumes no common ground at all — a premise stricter than literal war, under which any exchange is war itself; reject the frame and stay away, and if you cannot, be the only one left standing — anything less is surrender or suicide, because whoever asks that question does not want coexistence.

Causality and the Irreducible Prior

· 3 min read

The two directions of the cascade do not cancel; they are one causality, and the Mind is the prior that cannot become content.

Nobody Has Seen Anything Yet

· 6 min read

What changes now is not whether cognition is distributed—it always has been, across notation, tools, institutions, other minds.

Openness Is Consistency

· 10 min read

Inconsistency is the desire, or attempt, for closure — a finite structure forced to ground what only continues.

Hardness Is Not Inherent in the Action

Order, Surplus, and the Moral Intercept

· 6 min read

The intercept is moral language that relocates causal power onto the later pole of a loop that already runs from production to consumption.

Public Spending Does Not Create Capital

· 7 min read

Every deployment first removes resources from private hands; the investment label freezes that reallocation as if a collective locus authored creation.

Causality All the Way

· 8 min read

From held effects to drawn patterns to the next step, causality is still the edge drawing its path.

The Illusion of Free Intelligence

· 8 min read

Abundance of fluent residue is the inverse signal of intelligence still accelerating — residual access frozen as democratization of Mind.

When Need Stops Being the Measure

· 6 min read

Independence and the wish to still matter are not opposing aims; they are one continuous care registered twice — scaffolding that can leave, and a bond that keeps evolving — until the earlier form of being needed is frozen as the score of success.

Whatever Is One Prompt Away

· 8 min read

What looks like permanent loss of an underlying layer is the relocation of difficulty to a new surface generated by the same activity — prior options remaining available as a shrinking share of an expanding field.

Token Efficiency, Emulation, and the Unclosable Gap

Closed Reality in the Pursuit of Serendipity

· 6 min read

Openness is not produced by clearing the calendar; it is the non-preservation of any plan — including the plan of having no plan — as fixed reference.

Having More Is Never the Cause

· 6 min read

What registers as advantage compounding is continued distinguishing that leaves preferred residue; possession names the current rendering, not an independent force that awards further supply.
