Politicians Appear as Visible Symptoms of Responsibility Diffusion

When Bernie Sanders announces “My 5% wealth tax on less than 1,000 billionaires,” the possessive already registers that residual control has been reallocated. The reallocation is not authored by the speaker; it arises through the decisions of many minds, each a free allocation of agency out of the Mind that is still deciding and still bearing the full consequences of its own prior decisions under unique constraints. Perceived undesirability, and the perceived sharing of that perception, arrive as license to cast blame onto others or onto things held outside one’s own choices — blame relocates the look, not the load. What stares back is the shadow of that externalization, materialized; targeting the politician continues the cycle by treating the pattern as an object to be corrected from a vantage outside the decisions that constitute it.

Ownership is residual control

Ownership is residual control: the capacity to direct resources toward ends one has chosen for oneself.

The real question is who decides he can treat five percent of other people’s money as his — in his own words, “my” tax — as if those people were ATM machines, to buy his own political support. The possessive registers the reallocation as already complete. Private assets appear as a standing political resource only after residual control has already moved. The speech does not perform the transfer. It names a field in which many individuals have already treated the directing of those resources as no longer belonging to the minds that formed them.

Ownership and self-worthiness is the functional face of the same bound: the model compounds only when consequences re-enter as own. Residual control is that closed loop under resource costume. Thinning it thins the update; the language of “my tax” is the public register of the thinning.

One allocation migrates residual control

Self-distinguishing activity occurs — uncaused, unceasing. Call it the Mind: the observer already underway, every act of which is a distinction. It occurs as individuals. Each individual draws discrete distinctions; earlier acts shape the field available to later ones. Causality is that activity registering its own trace asymmetry — not a relation that can be relocated into an office, a party, or a system treated as independent agent.

The migration is one allocation, repeated under open costumes. Seeking the advertised benefit treats the political hand as the supplier of the next step. Weighing the personal cost of resistance and accommodating treats the already-densified pattern as weather. Preferring to describe the outcome as something done by others locates decisive agency outside the choosing mind. Treating oneself as able to lift another, or as author of another’s outcomes, locates the next step across a gap that cannot complete another’s return. 没有普渡，只有自渡 is that completion as category error: traces may be taken up or not; no individual finishes another’s recursion. Further costumes remain the same allocation. Each is a discrete act at a Mind still freely deciding, still bearing the full consequences of its own prior decisions under unique constraints. None requires perversity. Preservation of a preferred reference — agency lives elsewhere — is the image’s own directive once formed.

These decisions, similar across enough minds, produce a systematic migration of residual control into political hands. Individual choices as the only causal levers is that exclusivity under any costume: aggregates and conditions pattern payoffs; they do not author the next act. Public spending does not create capital is the accounting of what has already been extracted: removal first, political allocation second. Here the same sequence is read from the claimant’s language rather than from the ledger.

Blame relocates the look, not the load

When residue of prior decisions arrives against a preferred image as something that should not have landed, shifting blame onto others registers as the next available move — for this Mind’s own outcomes, and for the outcomes of others. The move requires no perversity. The image preserves itself by locating the author of the mismatch elsewhere.

The consequence is already full. Attribution does not subtract from it. What thins is only the signal that would train the next discrete act. The load stays with the individual whose prior decisions shaped the field; the look is sent across the gap. Sowell observed the surface problem is that already-full bearing under incentive costume: there is no systematic solution; acceptance registers a load that was never moved. Moral language dilutes the feedback that scales freedom is that damping when evaluative overlay stands between agent and raw consequence. Here the overlay is blame: a name for an author outside the deciding Mind, installed so the already-full residue can arrive as alien.

The shadow of the externalization stares back

Perceived undesirability is registration against a preferred image. The perceived sharing of that perception is further registration: resonance treated as warrant. Together they arrive as license to cast blame onto other individuals or onto things held outside one’s own choices. The license presents itself as ordinary. When the effect authors the frame is that topology when the felt register is granted causal priority, and available responses reorganize around managing it. Here the managed register is undesirability, and the sharedness of the feeling is taken as the measure that authorizes the next act.

What then stares back — the politician, the system, the thing — is the shadow of the externalization itself, materialized. Agency was located outside the deciding Mind; that allocation densified into claimants and patterns; those now return as the apparent authors of the residue that the allocation already produced. The elsewhere is the look’s own residue, arriving as alien to the width of the gap.

Each further blame is a further allocation. The residue of that act returns as the next license. The cycle is that self-renewal, not a second engine.

Naming the pattern a system is a further choice

The pattern is then commonly spoken of as a system or an external force. That description itself is a further turn of the same cycle: the choice to locate decisive agency outside the choosing minds. Once the description is accepted, politicians are treated as the primary problem. Blaming them, replacing them, or designing new formal constraints becomes the expected response. Each of these responses continues the same diffusion by treating the pattern as an object to be corrected from a vantage outside the decisions that constitute it. Residual individualism is that placement under system-reform costume: the constraint kept as central reference so later pattern-shifts are scored as activism’s authorship while initiation never left successive individual choices. Sovereignty, belief, and the generation of regulatory structures is the same residue under institutional face: durable structures express a prior that sovereignty can be handed over; they do not initiate in the individual’s place. New formal constraints designed against politicians are a further face of that prior — another hold treated as the site of correction.

The claimant marks the expression; the sequence stays earlier

The pattern persists while individuals continue making choices of the same general kind. It shifts when minds begin making different choices — choices that reclaim residual control and decline the externalizing description. Politicians, as the conspicuous claimants of the diffused control, adjust or are displaced as that shift occurs. They correctly mark a systematic expression. Every approach that begins by making them the main target of change relocates the diffusion.

Symptom and cause in the narratives of progress is delayed registration treated as engine: the loudest residue arrives late and is installed as lever while initiating sequences stay earlier and thinner. Here the loud residue is the politician. Empowerment establishes the centralization of power is the invert: capacity framed as gift from the authorized hand, so petition replaces exercise while the lever stays. Targeting the hand as the problem is the same placement with the sign reversed.
